Hed Kandi World Series
Hed Kandi World Series: Far and a way the best funky house/disco compilation of the year, this cd offers excellent value. Split into 3 cds, Beach House, Disco Heaven and Twisted Disco, this collection offers tunes for whatever mood you’re in. Unlike most Hed Kandi releases, this a mix cd, but you get a good 5 or 6 minutes of each track. Hed Kandi World Series is bound to please some and irritate others, but it works fine for me.
Overall, you won’t find a better collection of tunes at a better price!
Hed Kandi Winter Chill
We’re a big fan of Hed Kandi’s Winter Chill and Serve Chilled series, and this one is the best yet.
CD1 is more vocal based than many of the past compilations, but nevertheless works well, while CD2 is slightly more downbeat and better to listen to much later at night.
Hed Kandi Winter Chill is amazing! Can’t wait for the next one!
Head Kandi
Head Kandi is better known as Hed Kandi. Musically, Hed Kandi is all about style! Judging by the number of requests we get for what some people now term Hed Kandi music, our sound has almost become a genre in itself. First and foremost we’re about seriously good club music. To define that more clearly it would be true to describe this as predominantly vocal, soulful house, US garage and glittering disco – always deliciously stylish, of course!
Hed Kandi Beach
Hed Kandi Beach is an amazing house music compilation. Very good selection of brand new sexy and funky house tracks that are sure to set any dancefloor of any club on fire. Any compilation that features Miguel Migs tracks are a good indication of what else there is on the album. Hed Kandi Beach is a must BUY for any Funky house lover/DJ!
Hed Kandi Twisted
Hed Kandi Twisted is a great album. Twisted Disco 02.04 is a great mix of electro-pop dance numbers that make up disc one, and some great dance anthems on disc two. Scissor Sisters make two appearances on the first disc, first on the extended mix of “Comfortably Numb” and then a reworking of Bucci Bag’s “More Lemonade”. There’s a great cover of the Go Go’s “Our Lips Are Sealed” that opens the first disc, an instant highlight. My favorite track is Bastian’s “Bladerunner (I Think I Love You)”, which closes off the first disc. Other highlights on this disc include “You Used To” by Richard X, “Sometimes” by Les Rhythmes Digitales, and “Paddle” by Touche. The second disc as I said is more dance and house sounding. There’s some great tracks here, namely “Da Hype” by Junior Jack, “Superstars” by The Loose Cannons, and “Sweet Serendipity” by Bonnie Bailey. Overall a great collection to own, especially if you enjoy the other albums in the Hed Kandi Twisted series, this one won’t disapoint.
